Vol. 2, Issue 29: October 2, 2008

Notes from the Diva

We're trying something new! Let us know what you think!

This week we're busy with the kick off of our new Green Smoothie Blog! Hope you'll pipe in, slurp up and join us!

Your last chance to participate in the Body Enlightenment System before 2009 is happening now. We've strategically planned this one to make sure you're all cleaned out and ready for the holiday season to hit! This program will give you the support you need to resist all those butter tarts and gingerbread cookies.

The Truth About Your Food teleseminar series is also starting up at the end of October! Once the teleseminar series begins, registrations will close and this will NOT be available for free in the future.

Please help us spread the word and invite your family, friends and co-workers to get the FACTS about their food!

Juicy Treats

Raw Parmesan Cheese
by Tera Warner

2 cups nutritional yeast
a pinch of sea salt
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup walnuts

Schlep all the ingredients in a food processor and whizzz it all together. I just put those amounts in the recipe to make it look like a "real" recipe, but I just filled my food processor 1/2 full with nutritional yeast, then added walnuts and sunflower seeds (quite a few good handfuls) and a pinch of sea salt. Mmmhmmm…

Use it to sprinkle on veggie noodles, dip your cucumbers in it, spinkle it on the kids' rice cakes! Yum! Yum!

Feature Article: How To Save Money On Your Grocery Bill
by Tera Warner

save money on grocery billsWhether you’re under financial pressure, or just trying to tighten strings so you can save up for something special, here are a few tips for how to save money on your raw food grocery bill.

1. Sprout.
I realized that I have a closet full of hamster food, and if I soak it and sprout it and treat it with care, it will grow me a gigantic garden of greens. Sprouts are so rich in nutrients and so easy to do, that if you’re strapped for cash, start soaking your seeds! It truly costs pennies a salad!

2. Dare to compare!
I used to just buy things because they were close to me, but after I wrote down the bin prices on bulk nuts, seeds and dried fruit, I realized that I was paying WAY more at one store than the other. Take notes when you shop, and stick a price list in your purse for the next time you’re at the “other” store. You might be surprised how much you save.
